How Mediumship Works — Understanding the Process

Mediumship is the practice of communicating with the consciousness of those who have passed. Here’s how our mediums facilitate that connection.

What Is Mediumship?

Mediumship is the ability to perceive and communicate information from the consciousness of deceased individuals. A medium acts as an intermediary — receiving impressions, images, feelings, words, and sensations from the spirit world and translating them into meaningful messages for the living.

This is not guesswork, cold reading, or theatrical performance. Genuine evidential mediumship produces specific, verifiable information that the medium could not have known through any normal means.

How Mediums Receive Information

Clairvoyance (Clear Seeing)

The medium sees images — faces, places, objects, colours, symbols — in their mind’s eye. These might include the appearance of the deceased, a significant location, or a symbolic image that carries meaning for the sitter.

Clairaudience (Clear Hearing)

The medium hears words, names, phrases, or sounds. They might hear the spirit’s name, a phrase they commonly used, or specific words intended as a message.

Clairsentience (Clear Feeling)

The medium feels physical sensations or emotions associated with the spirit. They might sense how the person passed, feel their personality, or experience emotions the spirit wishes to convey.

Claircognisance (Clear Knowing)

The medium simply knows specific information without a visual, auditory, or sensory source. This is often described as information being “dropped in” — complete and certain.

The Session Process

  1. Opening — The medium centres themselves and opens their awareness to the spirit world. This is a quiet, focused process — not dramatic or performative.
  2. Spirit Contact — A spirit presence makes itself known. The medium begins receiving impressions and information about who is communicating.
  3. Evidence Delivery — The medium shares the evidence they’re receiving — descriptions, names, memories, personality traits. Your role is to confirm or deny the evidence honestly.
  4. Messages — Once the spirit’s identity is established through evidence, messages are delivered. These may include expressions of love, specific guidance, reassurance, or answers to questions.
  5. Questions — You may ask questions of your loved one through the medium. While not every question can be answered, the medium will relay whatever they receive.
  6. Closing — The medium gently closes the connection and ensures you feel grounded and supported before the session ends.

What Mediumship Is Not

  • It is not fortune-telling or predicting the future
  • It is not a magic trick or stage performance
  • It is not guaranteed to produce a specific spirit — the deceased have free will
  • It is not a substitute for professional grief counselling (though it can complement it)
  • It is not something to be feared — genuine mediumship is gentle and respectful

Experience It for Yourself

The best way to understand mediumship is to experience it.
